El abandono se ha convertido en una religión y en una moda imparable. La innovación es constante en todos los ámbitos, y ella acarrea una consecuencia directa hacia la desvalorización de todo lo que aunque aún útil, ha dejado de ser novedoso y por lo tanto de sorprender. En las ultimas décadas se han creado muchas necesidades que antes no existían, construyendo así una nueva cultura en la que se minimiza el trabajo humano y la tecnología inunda las casas, transformando costumbres que estaban muy arraigadas al día a día, y que eran representativas de cada pueblo. Una de estas necesidades ha sido poseer constantemente el ultimo modelo, con avances y comodidades respecto a su antecesor, sin importar la utilidad de lo que acaba en los vertederos, aunque con ello esos clientes acaben atados a la deuda bancaria que costea el pago. La obsolescencia programada tampoco ha ayudado a disminuir el creciente abandono de los productos, forzando a las personas a tirar/comprar cuando el producto programado termina su vida funcional.

La era de la industrialización cambió mucho las formas, provocó facilidades, generó trabajo asalariado y más contaminación. Han pasado las décadas y la tecnología del producto ha acelerado de tal forma que los mayores tienen dificultades con el entendimiento. La evolución ha sido tan precipitada que una misma generación ha podido observar el salto del inicio tecnológico al momento presente, viviendo un cambio cultural de difícil encaje. Todo ello ha despertado en algunos sectores de la población una cierta nostalgia por la sencillez, y por la rudeza y naturalidad de los productos, relaciones o costumbres que coexistían en el pasado. La tecnología propiamente dicha, esta contaminando nuestras relaciones humanas, nuestra forma de informarnos, y en muchos casos esta sirviendo de grillete a personas adictivas o poco motivadas. La lectura esta quedando en segundo plano, y casi no existe ya espacio para ella entre la juventud. En Rescue 1150 se aprecia un intento se salvar el libro, símbolo de esa costumbre cada vez más lejana, casi solo sustentada por los mayores. El libro…difusor de conocimiento por siglos, transmisor de las bases de lo que conocemos, y símbolo de ese canal de información cada vez menos frecuentado, en una posición de supervivencia en medio de un lugar en estado de abandono.

The abandonment has become a religion and an unstoppable fashion. Innovation is constant in all areas, and it carries a direct consequence towards the devaluation of everything that although still useful, has ceased to be novel and therefore surprising. In the last decades many needs have been created that did not exist before, thus building a new culture in which human work is minimized and technology floods the houses, transforming customs that were deeply rooted day by day, and that were representative of each village. One of these needs has been to constantly have the latest model, with advances and comforts compared to its predecessor, regardless of the utility of what ends up in landfills, although with it these customers end up tied to the bank debt that pays the payment. The programmed obsolescence has also not helped to diminish the growing abandonment of products and consumerism, forcing people to throw / buy when the programmed product ends its functional life.

The evolution has been so precipitate that a same generation has been able to observe the jump of the technological beginning to the present moment, living a cultural change of difficult lace. All this has aroused in some sectors of the population a certain nostalgia for simplicity, and for the rudeness and naturalness of the products, relationships or customs that coexisted in the past. The technology itself is contaminating our human relationships, our way of informing ourselves, and in many cases it is serving as a shackle to addictive or unmotivated people. The reading is staying in the background, and there is almost no space for it among the youth. Rescue 1150 shows an attempt to save the book, a symbol of that increasingly distant habit, almost only sustained by the elderly. The book ... diffuser of knowledge for centuries, transmitter of the bases of what we know, and symbol of that information channel that is disappearing, in a position of survival in the middle of a place in a state of abandonment.
